Here is a round-up of my favorite business books for female entrepreneurs.

She Means Business by Carrie Green

Carrie Green is one of my business idols. I was a member of “The Female Entrepreneuer association” for at least 3 years, and learned sooooooo much from how to create graphics for my website, to email list building, mindset work, writing a book, and more. She published this book a few years ago and I would recommend it to any newer business owner/those looking to start a business. She uses a lot of personal examples of how she built FEA, and her first failed business. Carrie is a lovely human being that I had the honor to be interviewed on her podcast,  and she runs a multi-million dollar business entirely online from her home in the UK. 

Clockwork: Design Your Business To Run Itsself by Mike Michalowicz

If you need to hire employees this is THE book. I found Clockwork to be so helpful when it came to figuring out what I needed help with in my business and how to create a great job posting that attracted quality applicants (I mean, look at my employees – pure gold). 

The author also teaches us to protect the “Queen bee Role” in the business at all costs, and how to figure out what that is. I recall spending many weeks on this book taking notes and applying to my biz. 

Profit First by Mike Michalowicz

Everything this author writes is gold for business. Profit first is a method of making sure you actually get paid consistently from your business. If you are not an entrepreneur you are probably thinking, “why would you not get paid consistently?” but if you work for yourself you know. Expenses, payroll, all the things…we get what’s left over. This book flips this concept on it’s head and makes sure you get paid first and make a profit while still paying your bills. Since applying these ideas I have been paying myself a salary (I know!) since January. This is the most money I’ve ever taken myself from my business, and we still have enough to cover everything. Mind-blown.

You Are A Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero

I actually liked this book much better than the first “You Are A Badass” book she wrote in terms of the stories and take-aways, but in general, I love Jen Sincero’s writing style. This book really introduced me to the idea of loving money and it not being a bad thing to have money.

Rich as F*ck by Amanda Francis

The “money queen” Amanda Frances has a unique way of teaching manifesting through her book and courses (I’ve purchased 2 of them now, and they are so different than anything I’ve ever taken.) I highly recommend “Money Mentality Makeover.” (Please use this link, so I can get my first affiliate sale, it doesn’t cost you any extra).

Essentialism by Greg McKeown

I was introduced to this book through my favorite online course I’ve ever taken – Elegant Excellence by Hilary Rushford. Essentialism gives it’s premise away in the title, it’s about figuring out the essentials to do in work/life and cuttin gout the rest. I can’t remember the specifics from this book, but I remember loving it. 

Good To Great in the Social Sectors by Jim Collins

This book was a text we used in college in my leadership minor, and it taught me to “get the right people on the bus,” meaning hire the right people and everything gets better. When searching for employees/contractors you need to find people who complement your skills, not provide the same skills. I used this when hiring my staff, and I am sooo happy with my employees. I got the right people, I let them do their thing (after training), they appreciate not being micro-managed, and my life is so much easier.

There have been many other business books I have read and plan to read, and I’ll probably do a part-2 to this in the future.
