Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why should I invest in your services?

It takes time to create new health habits!

Even if you got “all of your questions answered” in a single session (not likely), you need the support, accountability, and further education to help you develop new habits, and see you through difficult scenarios (even nutrition majors can benefit from seeing a dietitian!).

With Treatment Consulting I can provide precious, life-saving, time by speeding up the process of finding and admitting to the best program for your needs. You don’t have to waste time researching programs, wondering what questions to ask or if you are making the right decision – I can do the leg work for you so you can focus on recovery.

Q: Do I have to have a diagnosed eating disorder to work with you?

A: No, you do not have to have a diagnosed eating disorder to work with me; but all my work comes from a non-diet, eating disorder informed approach.

Q: What are typical results of nutrition counseling and coaching?

A: Results are individual and will vary. I cannot (and honestly nobody can) promise full recovery/results, but will try my hardest! You must also put in the work during and between sessions.

“It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that nutrition intervention, including nutrition counseling by a registered dietitian, is an essential component of the team treatment of patients with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and other eating disorders during assessment and treatment across the continuum of care.”

That being said, I have a great success rate with client satisfaction in terms of quality of life, improved health measures (labs, reduction in medications, blood pressure/heart rate), and mental health.

Q: What happens if I have technical issues during a session?

A: In case of technical difficulties on our end, you will not be charged for the session.  Technical difficulty on your end- you are still billed for the session. Please have a reliable internet connection and up-to-date computer program.  You may use your phone for video sessions, but a computer is recommended for battery and overheating issues.

Keep your phone nearby in case of issues.

Please show up on time for your session (we encourage you to log in a few minutes early and sit in the virtual waiting room). If you are more than 10 minutes late we assume you are not coming.

Q: Do you need to speak to my therapist/other providers? (for 1:1 counseling)

A: Your therapist and dietitian must be allowed to communicate before and throughout treatment. Please sign a release of information (sent in your intake forms), and have your therapist call your dietitian so we can discuss if you will be a good fit. Refusal to allow communication with your other health professionals is grounds for being dropped as a client.

You should also have regular medical check-ups as requested by your physician.

We want to make sure you have a strong team working together to help you!

All eating disorder clients: MUST BE WORKING WITH A THERAPIST who works with eating disorders and a MEDICAL PROVIDER. This is for your safety. I can make referrals to ED therapists if needed.

Q: How do I access the course content?

A: We offer more than 1:1 counseling!

See the courses/membership we have available HERE.

You can access courses anywhere you get internet (computer, phone, tablet).
